3. Android Device Permissions & Purpose Disclosures
In accordance with the Google Play Developer Policy and Google Play User Data Guidelines, below is a comprehensive disclosure of each runtime permission requested by the RunRestro Android application, why it is requested, and how your data is safeguarded:
Camera Access
android.permission.CAMERAPurpose: Used exclusively when initiated by you to: (1) Scan table QR codes, counter pairing codes, and merchant terminals; and (2) Capture photos of printed or handwritten restaurant menus to feed into RunRestro's AI menu digitizer for instant catalog creation.
Data Safety Guarantee: Images used for AI menu digitizing are processed solely for text/item extraction and are not shared with public training models or third-party advertisers.
Bluetooth & Nearby Devices
android.permission.BLUETOOTH_CONNECT & BLUETOOTH_SCANPurpose: Enables wireless connection to Bluetooth thermal receipt printers and Kitchen Order Ticket (KOT) printers (58mm and 80mm ESC/POS hardware) for automatic and manual ticket printing.
Data Safety Guarantee: Bluetooth connectivity is used strictly for sending print commands and querying printer status. No device scanning data is used for advertising or location tracking.
Photos, Media & Files
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGEPurpose: Allows you to select and upload restaurant logos, menu item photos, and promotional banners, as well as save generated sales invoices, GST reports, and daily Z-reports as PDF/Excel files to local storage.

Location (Where Applicable)
android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATIONPurpose: Required by earlier Android operating system versions (Android 11 and below) to perform Bluetooth device discovery for thermal receipt printers, and optionally used to verify the restaurant outlet's geographic coordinate for regional tax/currency configuration.
Data Safety Guarantee: We do not track continuous background location, nor do we sell location data to advertising networks or data brokers.
Internet & Network State
android.permission.INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATEPurpose: Required to synchronize restaurant orders, table reservations, bills, and menu updates in real-time across multiple waiter mobile devices, kitchen displays, and cloud management consoles, and to manage offline-to-online reconciliation.

Data Safety Guarantee: Notification permissions can be modified or disabled at any time in Android system settings.
You can inspect or revoke any of these optional permissions at any time via your Android device’s Settings > Apps > RunRestro > Permissions. Please note that disabling certain permissions (such as Bluetooth) will prevent printing to wireless thermal receipt hardware.
